Chilham

The extension and refurbishment of a prominent Edwardian villa in Grimsby sympathetically modernised the property and created a generous family home. The design approach was to refurbish and restore the front of the house, maintaining and embellishing its historic character – white at the rear, the former servant quarters were removed to make for an open plan living space that is inherently modern. The works extend into the garden, with raised planters, surface water recycling and the introduction of simple measures to improve bio-diversity and encourage wildlife.
